This car is based on a Triumph Herald 1200 which was purchased for eighty pounds. The donor car was well past its sell by date and ready for that great scrapyard in the sky. All the mechanical parts from the Herald were used, and after refurbishing were fitted to a T&J chassis. The body is made from 18mm exterior grade plywood, and skinned with vinyl over 6mm foam. (There's less painting to do with a vinyl body!)

Other components came from friends, autojumbles, local breakers and anyone else who could be persuaded with suitable items. The car is built with mudguards from a commercial vehicle trailer, aluminium from a fire engine manufacturer and seats from a kit car supplier. Fortunately, the proportion of original parts meant that I could retain the original registration number so it's exempt from Road Tax. It was built between 1988 and 1991,and registered before the introduction of the SVA test.
